Started in '92 as a record store, it has grown into a one stop shop for college students. Still ordering new music every week and special orders at no additional cost. New and used vinyl also in stock!

New shop recently purchased by Rick Derer and his son Andy. Shop has been around in one form or another since 1983. Was previously Record Utopia/2nd Hand Mall (2011-2018) and Remember When Records (1983-2011). New location 29 East Chicago Avenue, Westmont, IL as of January 2020.

The store opened in 1969 and originally sold folk, Jazz, and Blues music. By the 1980s, the store was selling house music records. The store was the first of its kind in the Chicago area, focusing on vinyl for DJs, and since has become a destination point for traveling DJs. The store focuses on stocking House, Techno, Disco and Electronic Music. The store has been important in the promotion of Chicago house music. The store is currently owned by DJ Michael Serafini.

Sound Bank features new and vintage vinyl, subscription based vinyl curating, art and more. Located on the second floor of The Vault Arts Collective. We're also the home to live music events monthly.
