Introduction: With the longtime metal-leaning venue Station 4 shuttered, this specialty record store is carrying on Lowertown St. Paul’s headbanging legacy. The sister store to a Dublin shop of the same name, Into the Void became the first Twin Cities shop geared toward breakdown and blast-beat connoisseurs since the Root Cellar closed in 2004. Into the Void has carted some of its stash — from death to doom, thrash to prog — to Minneapolis, playing DJ nights and one-off events, including a newly christened series at the Nomad (second Wednesday of each month).
