The Mad Platter was opened in the early 80's and after moving around the greater Riverside area, we have settled in University Village located a stones throw from UCR. The Mad Platter has been a haven for underground rock & noise as well as a place to pick up underground Hip Hop 12" singles, punk rock records & a wealth of out of print records & CD's. History: Established in 2011, Groovers is a new music store located in Riverside, Ca. (1 block East of UCR campus). I have had a 30 plus year career in the construction industry but my passion has always been music (especially vinyl LP's). I spent many years at Gillette's Records in the Brockton Arcade here in Riverside learning from the master himself. Being a 40 yr. plus vinyl collector I always knew "my turn" would come. With the recent resurgence of vinyl and the lack of construction work the timing was right for a change so here I am. Meet the Business Owner: Tom ANative "Riversidian" . Lived throughout So. Cal. after high school and settled back here in Riverside in 1998'. Spent 30 yrs. in Construction as a career but stepped to the side lines in 09'. Catching up on what I missed and living a dream.
